The story of the Iberian wolves

The Iberian wolf is a brown-colored subspecies of the common wolf, originally found throughout the Iberian Peninsula, now only in northern Portugal and northwestern Spain. The ancient Celts called him the Spirit of the Storm.

Currently there are no more than 2,000 individuals, making it one of the most endangered canids in the world. They do not form large packs, wolves live alone or in pairs only when raising puppies.

They have a fighting nature, they are said to be the most aggressive wolves, as fights for prey often occur between them, even between a male and a female in a pair.

The story of the Iberian pigs

Surely you have already tasted the Spanish delicacy Jamón Ibérico. This excellent ham is made from the meat of Iberian dark pigs.

And it is this meat, rich in protein, B vitamins, minerals such as iron and potassium, that is used for production of Ibero NATURAL kibble.

Dark pigs are raised in controlled free-range farms in oak and cork groves in Spain. They have enough movement, which is manifested by a high amount of muscle and a lower content of fat. They feed mainly on acorns, which contain healthy unsaturated fatty acids.

Support of zoo Jihlava

We support the Iberian wolf in the zoo in Jihlava, where there are two individuals - a male and a female, who form a pair together.

The female Beret is 14 years old and the male Willi is 9 years old. The keepers at the Jihlava Zoo are trying to reproduce this pair in order to support the number of individuals of a great species of animals, such as the Iberian wolves.

Wolves like to hide in the Jihlava zoo enclosures and it is not easy to photograph them. In the picture on the left, you can see Beret, who managed to take a photo despite her camouflage.

By purchasing Ibero Natural feed, you are helping us support these beautiful animals, who deserve the best care that the Jihlava zoo can offer them.
